Idir is a newly built villa that is located only a few steps away from Agios Sostis, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches of Mykonos. This luxurious seven bedroom residence is thoughtfully situated to take full advantage of its privileged position, enjoying sweeping vistas over the seascape. Inspired by the vernacular architecture and the dry, sun-baked Mykonian landscape, the architect created a low, light-filled dwelling that seems to grow out of the granite knob it was built on. The structure is composed of different-sized interconnected cubes with curved edges that soften the harsh effect of the stark-white surfaces. Wood-made pergolas cast their shadow over lounge and dining areas that are thoughtfully positioned towards the seascape and the emerald-green swimming pool. The interior is spacious and elegant, with numerous openings that provide maximal exposure to natural light and ventilation. The décor is quiet, leaving the leading role to the spectacular view. Muscular textures such as wood, stone, and concrete are used in their natural form to reflect the raw beauty of the landscape. The palette is neutral, with the only hints of color coming from the sea and garden. The rooms are generous and restful, with high ceilings and stark white walls that create an ultimately relaxing atmosphere. Quality furnishings are complemented by attractive antique pieces and a few striking details such as graceful chandeliers and the art pieces that are casually placed throughout the house. The villa is comprised of the main house and a separate guest house that is decorated accordingly and can accommodate up to four guests.
